Melanistic Leopard Scarf

This scarf is to ward off the misconception of the ever elusive Black Panther! No they are not mythical nor do they exist only in The Jungle Book and yes they exist in India. They are nothing but our gorgeous leopards only with a skin melanin dysfunction. That's right leopards are black panthers. Close examination will show that the typical leopard markings are still present, but are hidden by the excess black pigment melanin, giving an effect similar to that of printed silk. And that's the inspiration for this scarf! 
 
This shaded scarf is hand dyed and hand block printed by block printers in Rajasthan and then neatly finished and packaged by a Women's Self Help Group.
